February or March and July are common Australian starting periods, but there is no universal intake deadline. A useful plan begins with the exact course date, then leaves enough time for English testing, documents, an admission decision, finances and Student visa preparation.
Choose the intake from the course page
Some programmes start once a year, some offer two or more starts, and some close early when places fill. Confirm the campus and delivery mode as well as the month.
- February or March is a common main intake.
- July is a common mid-year intake for many, but not all, courses.
- Research and competitive programmes may follow different calendars.
- A pathway and the degree it leads to may have separate dates.
A practical 2027 application sequence
- Nine to twelve months before: compare courses, entry and total cost.
- Eight to ten months before: prepare academic documents and book English testing if required.
- Six to eight months before: submit strong applications before the published deadline.
- After an offer: review conditions, scholarship terms, fees and refund rules.
- After a CoE: follow the current Home Affairs Student visa process.
Search scholarships in the right places
Scholarships may be offered by a provider, government or research programme. Availability changes by intake and course, so search the official listing and then confirm the award on the provider’s website.
- Use Study Australia’s course and scholarship search.
- Check the international scholarship page of each shortlisted provider.
- Review Australia Awards Bangladesh opportunities and eligibility directly.
- For research degrees, check the Research Training Program and provider application process.
Compare the award with the full budget
A percentage tuition award does not cover every cost. Calculate the remaining tuition, living costs, health cover, visa-related costs, flights and set-up expenses in BDT before accepting.
- Check whether the award applies to one year or the complete course.
- Note GPA or enrolment conditions required to keep the scholarship.
- Confirm whether another award can be combined with it.
- Never pay someone for a “guaranteed” scholarship.
