Scholarships can be institution-funded, government-funded, subject-specific or based on academic merit. Availability changes by intake and applicant profile, and an advertised award is never guaranteed.
Start with official sources
- The university’s own scholarship database
- Government or national study portals
- Your offer letter and applicant portal
- Published faculty or course awards
Read the small print
- Is a separate application required?
- Is the amount fixed, percentage-based or limited to one year?
- What grades, deposit date or enrolment load must be maintained?
- Can the award be combined with another scholarship?
Keep the budget realistic
A scholarship may reduce tuition but not cover living costs, visa charges, health insurance or travel. Build the complete budget before accepting an offer.
