Financial evidence is not a template exercise. The required amount, acceptable evidence, holding period, sponsor rules and currency treatment vary by destination and can change.
Build a traceable file
- Use genuine bank and income documents.
- Keep names, relationships, dates and balances consistent.
- Explain the lawful source of significant funds with supporting evidence.
- Translate documents through an accepted process where required.
- Retain originals and clear copies of everything submitted.
Avoid risky shortcuts
Do not borrow documents, edit statements or create unexplained last-minute transactions. False or misleading evidence can lead to refusal and serious future consequences.
Check rules immediately before submission
Use the immigration authority’s current instructions and your institution’s checklist. Thinkoogram can help organise the file, but only the relevant authority decides whether evidence is acceptable.
Two time-sensitive official examples
At the review date shown on this guide, the UK Student route guidance lists living-cost evidence of £1,529 per month in London or £1,171 per month outside London, for up to nine months, and normally applies a 28-day holding rule. New Zealand guidance lists NZD 20,000 per year, or NZD 1,667 per month for study under one year, plus outward travel. These are visa-evidence figures—not a promise of actual living costs—and must be rechecked before submission.
